The Times: “Largest Shipload of Libyan Weapons Heading to Armed Groups in Syria”.
The British newspaper The Times revealed that a largest shipment of weapons has arrived in Turkey to be delivered to the armed groups in Syria.
“A Libyan ship carrying the largest consignment of weapons for Syria…has docked in Turkey,” said The Times in an article published on Friday.
The article’s writer, Sheera Frenkel, said most of the Libyan ship’s cargo is making its way to the armed terrorist groups inside Syria.
Quoting a member of the so-called ‘Free Syrian Army’, who called himself Abu Mohammad, the article said the over 400 ton cargo included “SAM-7 surface-to-air anti-craft missiles and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs).”
Abu Mohammad, who told The Times that he “helped to move the shipment from warehouses to the border” said “this is the largest single delivery of assistance” the gunmen have so far received.
The article said the Libyan ship, which is called ‘The Intisaar’ (victory), is berthed at the Turkish port of Iskenderun and had been given “papers stamped by the port authority by the ship’s captain, Omar Mousaeeb.”
The article pointed out that Mousaeeb is “a Libyan from Benghazi and the head of an organization called the Libyan National Council for Relief and Support,” which is delivering supplies to the armed groups in Syria.
Mouaseeb ascribed the defeats of these groups in Syria to the lack of weapons, adding however that “we now see there is even more they need.”
The British newspaper highlighted differences between the Muslim Brotherhood movement in Syria and the so-called Free Army over each claiming the cargo for themselves, which “delayed the arrival of the weapons in Syria.”
The article revealed that videos and photos confirmed the arrival of the shipment to the Syrian border and that “more than 80 per cent of the ship’s cargo…has been moved into Syria.”
According to the article, huge weapons stockpiles went missing in Libya after the killing of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, referring to photographs of empty boxes of SAM-7S and confirmations by Libyan officials that “more than 5,000 of the missiles had vanished.”
The Times affirmed that this is not the first time that Libyan ships try to deliver weapons to the armed terrorist groups in Syria, referring to “a large consignment of Libyan weapons, including PRGs and heavy ammunition,” which was seized by the Lebanese authorities in the Lebanese northern territorial waters as it was mend to reach the gunmen in Syria.

Il giornale britannico ‘The Times’ ha rivelato che il più grande carico di armi da consegnare ai gruppi armati (mercenari) in Siria è arrivato in Turchia .
“Una nave libica, che trasporta la più grande partita di armi per la Siria … ha attraccato in Turchia”, ha detto il Times in un articolo pubblicato venerdì.
Il giornalista che ha scritto l’articolo, Sheera Frenkel, ha detto che la maggior parte del carico della nave libica sarà consegnato ai gruppi armati terroristici in Siria.
Citando un membro del così detto FSA (Falso esercito siriano), che si faceva chiamare Abu Mohammad, nell’articolo è detto che il carico di oltre 400 tonnellate comprende anche “SAM-7 missili superficie-aria, anti-missili artigianali e granate RPG”.
Abu Mohammad, ha detto al Times che “ha contribuito a spostare il carico dai magazzini al confine”, aggiungendo che “questa è la più grande consegna singola quale assistenza agli uomini armati che abbiano finora ricevuto”.
Nel testo dell’articolo si dice che la nave libica, che si chiama ‘The Intisaar’ (vittoria), è attraccata al porto turco di Iskenderun e che le carte di autorizzazione allo sbarco sono state rilasciate dall’autorità portuale al capitano della nave, Omar Mousaeeb.
L’articolo sottolinea che Mousaeeb è “un libico di Bengasi ed è capo di un’organizzazione chiamata “Consiglio nazionale libico per il soccorso e supporto tecnico”, per la consegna delle forniture ai gruppi armati in Siria.
Mouaseeb ha attribuito le sconfitte di questi gruppi mercenari in Siria per la mancanza di armi, aggiungendo però che “ora vediamo che c’è anche di più di quello che abbiamo bisogno.”
Il quotidiano britannico ha evidenziato contrasti tra il movimento dei Fratelli Musulmani in Siria e il FSA, quanto alle pretese di ottenere il carico ognuno per se stesso, cosa che “ha ritardato l’arrivo delle armi in Siria.”
L’articolo ha rivelato che i video e le foto hanno confermato l’arrivo della spedizione al confine siriano e che “oltre l’80 per cento del carico della nave … è stato trasferito in Siria”.
Secondo l’articolo, enormi riserve di armi sono scomparse dalla Libia dopo l’uccisione del colonnello Muammar Gheddafi, facendo riferimento a fotografie di scatole vuote di SAM-7S e a conferme testimoniali da parte di funzionari libici che “più di 5.000 missili erano scomparsi.”
Il Times ha affermato che questa non è la prima volta che navi libiche tentano di consegnare armi ai gruppi armati terroristici in Siria, facendo riferimento a “una grossa partita di armi libiche, tra cui PRGS e munizioni pesanti”, che venne sequestrata dalle autorità libanesi in acque territoriali nel nord del Libano, da cui avrebbe dovuto raggiungere i gruppi terroristici armati in Siria.

Thanks for the report, as for western media we only read the headlines. We are closely following Press TV and Russia Today. The arabs media are not credible, better to read Chinese Xiahua. As today, 23 sept. 2012 , bandits are loosing big time. Our sadness is on civilians being killed by these Murtad hired thugs, similar what happen in Libya. Read a report that Syrian Army damaged 5 truck loads of weapons. SYRIA WILL WIN IN THE END BUT VERY EMOTIONAL ON DEATH OF INNOCENT HUMAN. MAY ALL OF THEM BE PLACED IN PARADISE, AMEEN.
